Current goal
Goal: to be as fast as he can with the time he's got
He walked away from running at 13. More than fifteen years later, he came back to find out what was possible.
No more what-ifs.
Rob started running young, but by 13 he'd walked away from the sport. What followed was a very different life, working in London's financial markets, long hours, lots of partying and little thought of ever competing again. It wasn't until his late twenties, when he gave up alcohol, that he began to rediscover running.
What started as a way to get fit quickly became something more. With no professional sporting background and years away from the sport, he began chasing times he once thought were out of reach. Since returning, he's run 15:32 for 5K, 32:17 for 10K and 1:12:12 for the half marathon, all while balancing training with the demands of running a business.
Alongside his brother and sister, Rob co-founded The Farm Club, a wellbeing destination in Cheshire. His passion for running also led him to establish the Imani Running Team in Kenya, supporting talented athletes who might otherwise lack opportunities, before launching Motion to bring that same belief and support to athletes closer to home.
Now, coached by Louise Whittaker, he's trying to discover how far he can take his own running. With limited hours, a demanding schedule and an ambition that hasn't gone away, the challenge is finding the balance between consistency, recovery and pushing his limits.
For Rob, it's no longer about making up for lost time. It's about making the most of the time he has now, and finding out what's possible.
